About Us

THE SCHOOL

The Chair of St. Peter School (CSPS) was put up based on the inspiration set forth by St. Peter. CSPS is a Catholic school for boys and girls committed to education of responsible citizens and future leaders. It aims to strengthen further brotherhood in the faith through education. It is through education, that a church be built in every student’s heart and mind so as to live a happy, Christian life.

Statement of Philosophy

As educators, we believe:

  1. That the primary aim of CSPS is the Christian formation of its students;
  2. That an excellent academic program is centered on the gospel message from which all other disciplines emanate;
  3. That when we provide our students with a human and Christian education, we are living out our call as lay members of the church and as messengers of evangelization;
  4. That an individual should be prepared for life as a social being in an increasingly complex world;
  5. That the students have the right to learn in an environment that reinforces feelings of self-worth; one which shows warmth and care, treats students fairly, offers positive criticism and discipline and respects individual differences;
  6. That a good educational program encourages creativity and spirit of inquiry; and teaches the fundamental concepts of the various academic disciplines;

WE BELIEVE, CSPS has a unique opportunity to help mold citizens of the future. Through its faculty and curriculum, CSPS endeavors to provide a broad education experience.

The Peterson Core Values

The school focuses on four core values that serve as guiding principles for the desired behaviors. These values are practiced by the total school community—students, administrators, faculty, non-teaching staff and maintenance and security personnel. The core values are:

COOPERATION

Cooperation is based on recognizing the unique role of every individual and the need to be sincere and positive because each one has a talent or a skill to contribute to the group. Cooperation requires the success of each member of the group so that the constant aim of cooperation is the benefit of each one and of the group. It is governed by the principle of mutual respect and service.

HONESTY

Honesty means to speak and to act truthfully—to say what one thinks and to do what one says without deception or self-gain. One’s actions spring from thoughts that are well-thought out and motives that are selfless; thus, one acts with honor and integrity.

RESPECT

Respect consists in knowing one’s own value as a child of God and honoring the worth of others as His children, too. Respect recognizes not only one’s rights but those of others as well. This includes giving due respect to one’s parents, superiors, and the environment.

RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility is the duty to manage oneself, especially one’s time, talent, and resources, in order to honor God and to benefit others. A responsible person fulfills the assigned duty by staying true to the aim.
